This is a great description of what meditation really is~ a gift from my sister betsy.
in meditation we cultivate compassion for ourselves, a willingness to explore, an honest look at our thoughts and faith in our potential. we notice the coming and going of reactions, sensations, emotions, not analyzing the content.. we slowly make space for all to be sure, without grasping for or chasing away anything, patience is developed as the body stills and the mind clears from thoughts, distractions and worries. meditation is not a vacation, it is a process of returning again and again to the neutral, quiet space which exists inside. The breath, a mantra, a candle, an intention are all tools to help focus the mind and discover this still point.
